Viehhofen lies at an elevation of 856 m above sea level between the famous destinations of Saalbach-Hinterglemm, Zell am See and Kaprun, in the Glemmtal Valley, through which flows the River Saalach. To the east, at the entrance to the valley, you will find the village of Maishofen.

Our valley is surrounded by the Kitzbühel Alps.
The highest point is the Geissstein at a height of 2,363m.
The following mountains surround our village:
to our SW, the Oberer Gernkogel (elev. 2,175 m)
to our SE, the Schmittenhöhe (1,965 m)
to our NE, the Sausteige (1,912 m)

Viehhofen is an idyllic small alpine village, and as such guests quickly turn into true friends who think of it as a home from home.

Viehhofen has the area's ('Ski Circus') longest ski slope of approximately 7.5 km which drops all the way back down to our village. After riding up on the Schönleiten gondola, take the right-hand exit. Hill 62 will take you to the Polten chair lift, from where you exit right and enjoy the panoramas of the Steinernes Meer and Hohe Tauern ranges. You will ski down the beautiful 68 run and finish back in the village.
